Keeshond Puppies Connecticut

Keeshond Just wanted to let you know that our first week with Archie has been terrrific fun! He is a furry ball of energy, and a good-natured puppy. He is now coming reliably (and happily!) when called, and with the occasional accident, is pretty close to being house-trained.

Everybody in the family absolutely dotes on him, except for our other keeshond, Nick (The Wonder Dog). Nick, our 11-year old, was absolutely furious with me and wouldn't even look at me the first couple of days we were home. He pretty much ignored Archie altogether at first.

After some special walkies and a little extra TLC, I'm back in good graces with Nick. And he's starting to come around with Archie, as they played a bit in the back yard yesterday, and Nick let Archie climb on top of him and even start chewing on Nick's ear before Nick called an end to things. So I think as Nick gets over his jealousy, everybody will do just fine.

I always marvel at how smart the keeshonds are. Archie's eyes are full of inquisitiveness and excitement, and he is eager to learn anything I teach him (and chew on anything that's offered!) I'm looking forward to taking Archie with me next summer on hikes that Nick is no longer able to do, and take both dogs on walks through the woods.

Right now, Archie has collected all of his toys into a big pile in the middle of the living room floor. I'm sending you a picture of him from my phone.

I'll send you more updates as he grows up. Thanks again, Cyndi.
